THE FLFAM IS WORKING TOWARDS ENSURING THAT LIVE BROILER CHICKENS REACHES THE MARKETS WHERE NEEDED

The FLFAM would like to reiterate that the supply of live broiler chicken is sufficient to meet the needs of the consumers for the festival season. A meeting was held with the farmers and a number of live chicken wholesalers this morning and it was decided that the FLFAM will undertake to organize the supply and distribution of live birds to the locations where there is a short fall in supply.

To enable this to be done retailers that have not been able to get sufficient supply from normal sources are requested to call the FLFAM and make known their requirements.

Retailers making the request for supply are required to abide by the following conditions: –

• Please fax copies of their valid trading license and festival season retail license issued by the MDTCA to the FLFAM;
• Please inform the company name, name of person in charge, contact numbers, quantity of live chicken required, location and date for delivery;
• Prices approved by the MDTCA will be charged;
• Payment is by cash before delivery;
• The retailers should not use the system as an alternative to their normal source of supply.

The effort to be undertaken by the FLFAM and the live bird wholesalers is ensure adequate supply reaches all the markets in the country by redistributing resources in some areas that can be spared to other areas where there is a short fall.

Consumers are requested not to resort to panic buying as the supply is adequate for all requirements. The chickens meant for Hari Raya and Deepavali are already being reared in the farms and will be marketed when they reach adequate age and weight.

To ensure the success of this effort all parties are requested to give their full cooperation and work together with the government towards an orderly and enjoyable festival season.

马来西亚禽畜业联合总会努力确保活体肉鸡到达需要它的市场

本会欲重申目前市场上活体肉鸡供应是足够应付佳节需求的。今天早上，农民和活鸡批发商进行了会议，并且决定由本会来组织活体肉鸡的供应和分销给供应不足的地方。

为行事方便，本会要求那些无法从平时的供应来源管道取得充足活鸡供应的零售商，联络本会如下：

这些零售商必须符合以下的条件：-

• 请把由国内贸易与消费人事务部发出的有效营业执照及佳节零售执照副本传真给本会；
• 提供公司名称，负责人姓名，联络电话号码，所要的活鸡数量，送货地点及日期；
• 价钱是根据国内贸易与消费人事务部批准的价钱；
• 在送货之前，缴清现金；
• 零售商不应以此供应来取代他们平时的供应来源。

本会和活鸡批发商采取上述努力，也就是把一些地区的货源腾出来重新分配到供应短缺的地方，以确保国内市场上的供应充足。

消费人无需惊慌抢购肉鸡，因为货源是足够应付各方面的需求的。开斋节和屠妖节所需的肉鸡早已在农场饲养中，并会在适龄和适重时推出市场。
