2009 second Beta Agonist Screening Campaign

The 2009 second Beta Agonist Screening Campaign organised by the Department of Veterinary Services is underway now. This routine screening is compulsory and every farm in the Peninsular is subjected to the screening without exception. Any farm reluctant to submit to the screening shall be suspended from moving live animals out of the premises immediately. Similarly, farm tested positive shall likewise be suspended. The whole two week exercise shall last till 30th November 2009. The FLFAM supports the screening exercise wholeheartedly to ensure local pork & pork products are safe for consumption. However, the Association cannot vouch for the safety of imported pork & pork products especially from Vietnam.

Results are expected early December 2009.
